BHEL has been a pioneer in the area of Human Resource Development, being the first Public Sector Undertaking of its kind, in India, to have setup an extensive HRD infrastructure as way back as the early sixties. Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) of BHEL R.C.Puram, Hyderabad occupies a significant place not only among other HRDCs of BHEL but also as an important Training and Development Centre in the twin cities of Hyderabad [Andhra Pradesh].

 


Since its inauguration (earlier known as Technical Training School) on 8th July 1963 by Sri K.Kamaraj, the then Chief Minister, Madras, today's HRDC, R C Puram, Hyderabad has come a long way, bagging the prestigious Golden Peacock National Training Award .

 

We organize and conduct different kinds of Training and Development programs for our employees, customers, suppliers, and others. The spirit at our HRDC is continuous learning and "the learning" which move towards focussed Individual and Organizational Growth.

General Management Programs                                                

 


For Senior Managers and above we conduct General Management Programme [GMP]. The objectives of GMP are as follows:

         Creating an awareness of the influence of Business Environment on Organization,

         Enhancing Inter - Functional awareness in critical functional areas of BHEL,

         Conceptual & experiential understanding of behavioral process in an organization so as to enhance Personal, Inter-Personal, & Organizational Effectiveness,

         Reviewing the present status of the Organization & challenges ahead through interactions amongst the group & with the Top - Management, and

  • Self-Learning

The programme duration is of 16 days and it touches upon the macro and micro dimensions of various issues, like Management, Finance , Economy, IT, Project Management, Customer Delight , Quality, EQ, Interpersonal Relationship, Yoga & Meditation etc.

 

We are also conducting quite intensive and focused sessions on Performance Management System [PMS] and Performance Feedback & Counseling [PFC].

 

We are going to start, another programme titled Young Managers Programme [YMP] for Dy. Managers and Managers. The programme duration will be of 12 days and the focus will be on enhancing effectiveness of that particular cadre.

Module - wise Programmes                               

 

For the specific group, where there is a change in cadre / grade, we conduct Module oriented programmes for that particular groups. These programmes are:

  • TDP [Technician Development Porgramme]
  • ADP [Artisan Development Porgramme].

 

The key focus in all these modules is to bring role - clarity and role - effectiveness among the participants in their new assignments. The programme -duration varies from 4 to 6 days.

Environment Management System:                     

 

Our Unit has now been certified for ISO-14001 and it is essential that all our employees must get acquainted with this standard and put their best efforts for its implementation. It is also essential for all of us to ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation/regulation, conservation of natural resources, reduction in waste, pollution prevention and control and create environmental awareness in our employees, customers, and suppliers.

 

Broadly, the EMS training is of two-types: Awareness Training & Competence Training.

 

The key-focus in EMS-Training Programme is --- to continually improve environmental performance in our activities, products and services emphasizing the element of "Clean & Green".
