Gear box test plan is established for conducting the No load
Mechanical run test of Accessory Gear boxes and load Gear
boxes of various models of Gas turbine.

following models of gear boxes are tested: |

Accessory Gear Boxes :
FRAME
- VI : AA51FA
5100 rpm Clock wise direction
FRAME V :
AA51FA 5100 rpm CW direction
FRAME III
: BA716A 7100 rpm CW

FRAME IX
: AA30 CZ 3000 rpm CW
direction
B)
Load Gear boxes.
FRAME VI :
TRL 65 CV 5100 rpm CCW
direction
FRAME V :
VF 63 R 5100 rpm CCW
direction
FRAME III :
VF 63C 6500 rpm CCW

In
addition to above, No load mechanical run test of Steam turbine
drive Gear boxes types upto 14,850 rpm and no load power requirement
of 1000 KW can also be tested on this facility.

There
are two beds with independent driver and Hydraulic coupling
to test gear boxes.

Induction motor on Bed 2
- Both the test beds are having 1000 KW
Voith couplings with 1:3 ratio, 2000 KW
Step up gear boxes. |

- 1000 lpm at 10 kgs / cm2 oil pumps - 2
nos.
With twin oil coolers and duplex filters
with 10 microns
filtration system.
Lube oil heaters 4no.s each 1000 KW
capacity
4000 LTRS Overhead oil tank for emergency
lubrication. |
| D) Cooling water system |
- Independent cooling water
system with 2 no.s of CW Pumps of 200 t/HR
AT 4.0 kgs / cm2 with one as standby. |
| E) Instrumentation |
- Computerized Data acquisition
system with 100 channels
- 8 channels ADRE vibration along with 2 channels key
phaser facility
- 12 channel vibration monitor system for shaft
vibrations from M/s. Bently Nevada Corporation
- 12 channels vibration monitor system for housing vibrations
from M/s Bently Nevada Corporation. |

TESTS CONDUCTED ON LOAD GEAR BOXES
|
-
No load mechanical run test as per API613
- Measurment of shaft vibrations, bearing
metal
Temperatures, oil flow, inlet and outlet
oil temperatures and inlet oil pressure
through
out the testing period
- Measurement of casting vibrations and noise
level at rated speed for one time.

TESTS CONDUCTED ACCESSORY GEAR BOXES |
-No
load mechanical run test as per API613
-Main oil pump performance at rated speed
-Measurement of bearing casting temperature,
inlet & outlet oil temperatures, inlet oil
pressure and inlet oil flow through out the
testing period.
-Overspeed trip check up & setting.
